Description
Great for indoor or outdoor use. 9 5/8" x 1 3/4" Aluminum Planks are used throughout the bleacher. Single walk planks are used in relation to the 2nd and 3rd seat levels with double walk planks used on all higher seat levels - unless Double was plank preference is chosen.
Bleacher configuration above 30" have openings of less than 4". Basic framing up to 6 Rows is WELDED structural steel angle with bolted cross bracing to improve bleacher strength for end shift loads. Add on frames for 7-8 and 9-10 seat levels are fully welded, bolt on extensions. Framing is spaced on 6 foot centers. Treated 2x4 wood runners are bolted to the bottom of each frame to improve stability on soft surfaces. Rubber floor protectors may be substituted.
Safety Rails using steel vertical slats are installed as per the recommendations of the Current IBS guidelines for bleachers with surfaces above 30".
Features & More
Each plank is constructed from extruded 6063-T6 mill finished aluminum. Seat planks are finished with clear or colored powder coat to prevent oxidation. The planks are 9 5/8” wide by 1 ¾” thick with built in ribbing for added strength. The topside of each plank has a low profile tread to improve traction. Aluminum end caps are pre-attached prior to shipping.
The support frames are fully welded BLACK powder coated angle iron construction to provide for years of low maintenance. Frames are spaced on 6’ centers and cross-braced for independent rigidity.
Most guidelines recommend safety railing on all bleachers where seats or walk planks are higher than 30” above the adjacent ground elevation, most guidelines recommend safety railing. Although safety railing can vary in design, this bleacher system uses railing that has vertically positioned slats with less than 4” spacing. This type of safety railing contributes to greater safety since it does not promote climbing because it does not use horizontal cross members.
This bleacher system can be configured with walk planks as either a single plank (Standard) or double planks (Preferred) depending on customer requirements. Important, most safety guidelines recommend against openings that are greater than which a 4” diameter sphere can pass through whenever that opening is higher than 30” above the adjacent ground elevation. Therefore, double walk planks are normally used for seat levels that start at five and higher and also incorporate a back panel.
This bleacher system can be configured with or without steps/aisles. Local Codes and Guideline dictate those requirements. Step location and spacing depends on the length of planking and number of support frames used. Steps will normally be provided hand railing in accordance with the current IBC/ICC Standards on Bleachers as required for customer needs.
Precut-treated 2 x 4 wood runners are attached to the bottom of each bleacher frame. This wood runner is provided to reduce the chance of damage to the surface on which the bleacher assembly sets and to provide a barrier between the ground and bleacher when used outdoors.
Low–rise bleachers are purchased based on the number of seat rows, length of planks, Single (Standard) vs. Double (Preferred) walk planks and with or without aisles and hand rails. To determine the size of bleacher you will need to consider a requirement of 18” per spectator. For example: a three row x 15’ bleacher without steps will seat 30 people.
