The most important feature of the Pro-Fold II is the adjustable rim elevation. Heights selections infinitely adjustable from 6''6" to 10'0". This makes the Pro-Fold II ideal for all age groups from Biddy Ball to adult league play. Height selection is easily and quickly accomplished by releasing the post clamp at the top of the main post and simply repositioning the slide post to the desired rim elevation. Then retighten the clamp. Rim elevations are read on the back of the main post.
When the rim is adjusted to 10'0", the extension on the backboard from the base is at least 48". This provides full clearance under the basket to the base line. As the rim is lowered, the backboard extension is reduced to provide more stability for dunking.
The Pro-Fold II carries a 54" x 33" acrylic backboard. This super sized backboard is also reinforced on each side of the shooting square. This provides excellent bank shot rebound characteristics off of the backboard. Other goals that sell in the same price range carry only a 48" wide acrylic backboard with no reinforcement. The Pro-Fold II backboard is framed with a heavy steel powder coated angle to help stiffen the entire backboard and provide that professional league look.
The base is formed from heavy gauged sheet steel components. Each of the components are welded together to make an extremely solid base. The base is designed to be used indoors or outdoors.
The front of the base is fully padded with on inch of foam wrapped with 12-oz vinyl. For added protection, the top pad wraps around the front support to provide protection on the edge of the support.
To prevent movement during play, big foot brakes swing down from the front pad. This action lifts the front wheels just off the floor and supports the unit at the very front of the base for maximum stability. Each brake is covered with 3/16" thick rubber to protect the floor from damage. To prevent unauthorized transport, the brake release latch can be locked.
At the heart of the Pro-Fold II is the height adjustable slide post. An internal spring applies upward pressure to balance the weight of the post and backboard. The top of the main post clamps on the slide post to secure the selected elevation and prevent the slide post from shaking. The main post is constructed of 3 1/2" x 3/16" steel tubing. The slide post is zinc plated and constructed of 3" x 3/16" steel tubing.
Two set of 4" dual wheels at the back of the base carry the load of the ballast compartment. The front of the base is carried by two 4" full swivel casters to provide directional control when the brake is released.
Any weight used as ballast is stored in the back end of the base compartment. It need not be removed to transport the product when used on a firm level surface. The ballast can be removed when necessary for transport up steps and when relocating the Pro-Fold II from one site to another.
The 54" backboard swings down to pass under a standard size walk in double door. Multiple units can be stored back to front with each successive unit only taking up 52" of linear space.
On rare occasions you may need to transport to another site or go through doors that are less than the width of the backboard. No problem, after the backboard is folded down for normal storage, simply remove one remaining bolt and remove the backboard assembly all together. The base and backboard will now pass through a 34" door opening.
